Second Apparition Of Our Lady Of The Miraculous Medal: Our Lady Of The Globe

Year 1830. France was experiencing the devastating effects of war: widespread unemployment, lack of food to feed the hungry and the poor, scarce medical attention for the sick and the victims of war.

On a Saturday evening on November 27, 1830, the Blessed Lady appeared again to Catherine Laboure.

This time she was standing on a half-globe with her feet crushing the head of a serpent. She was holding in her hands a golden globe which represented each person and the whole world especially France.

As her eyes were directed towards heaven, she seemed in prayer, offering the globe to God.

This apparition of our Lady shows her “all powerful and never failing intercession” for all of us, to God.

She is for each one of us and for the whole world especially our country the universal Advocate and Mediatrix of all graces.

She is telling us now to approach Her, to pray to Her, to have recourse to Her always.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
